Friday, January 18, 2019 12 Shevat 5779

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Part of the 2019 Martin Luther King Social Action Shabbaton

Direct service. Eradicating root causes of intolerance. Where do we put our time and resources? How do we make the most impact?

After services and a delicious dinner, Katy Joseph, Policy and Legislation Advisor at Interfaith Alliance and an  Avodah Justice Ambassador will help us situate service and volunteer work within the larger context of systemic social inequality. We will explore the opportunities and limits of various social justice modalities in order to have an even stronger impact toward a more just world.

Dinner menu:
Linguine and meatballs
Fried chicken
Tofu stew
Garlic rolls
Spinach & sauteed onions
Pickled beets
Corn
Peach crisp & ice cream

Service: 6:00 pm | Dinner: 7:00 pm
