Sunday, March 19, 2023 • 26 Adar 5783
10:30 AMTI member Rabbi Chuck Feinberg recently returned from a 5-day trip to to Kyiv, Ukraine as a member of a small interfaith delegation of religious leaders. The mission was to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine, to affirm the multi-religious nature of Ukrainian society, and to pray for a just peace. It was organized by Europe, A Patient Organization, an NGO led by young Polish intellectuals and religious leaders.
During their five days in Kyiv, the group met with religious leaders of different faiths, government officials and members of Parliament, and listened to testimony from Ukrainian citizens. They visited churches, religious compounds and a Masorti congregation. They also toured three towns outside of Kyiv where heavy fighting and human rights violations have occurred. The delegation prayed for a just peace at the Babi Yar Memorial and at St. Sophia's Cathedral.
Rabbi Feinberg's presentation will include photos of his trip and summaries of what he heard and witnessed.
Note: This is an in-person presentation.
