Equal parts conversation, prayer, study and song – we will delve into the lyrics of Joey's songs with R' Aviva Richman (Rosh Yeshiva at Hadar), premiere never-before-seen videos of Joey and the Hadar Ensemble, and join together to sing melodies of teshuvah and celebration.

​​​About Joey Weisenberg
Musician, prayer leader, award-winning author, and teacher, Joey is the Creative Director of Hadar’s Rising Song Institute. He works to educate and train communities to unlock their musical-spiritual potential and make music a lasting, joy­-filled force in synagogues and in Jewish life. Joey runs workshops and trainings across the country, including the Rising Song Intensive each December at the Hadar Institute. He is the author of the 2017 National Jewish Book Award-winning The Torah of Music, as well as Building Singing Communities, Nigunim: The Songbook and The Kane Street Songster. He has recorded seven albums with the Hadar Ensemble, most recently Songs of Ascent and his nigunim have become popular worldwide.
 

Rising Song Institute
The Rising Song Institute aims to cultivate the grassroots musical-spiritual creativity of the Jewish people. A nexus point of creative musicians, prayer leaders, and communal song, this musical-spiritual center hopes to lead and guide the future of music as a communal Jewish spiritual practice. The Institute emphasizes the intricate interdependence of professional musical-spiritual artists and the powerful energy of people gathered in the community to sing.
