REMEMBRANCES

TI offers many ways to honor the memory of loved ones. The Book of Remembrance is used during Yizkor services, and
memorial plaques are lit on yahrzeitn. To learn about other ways to honor a loved one's memory, contact Sheri Blonder.

VOLUNTEER

Deliver a Sweeter New Year: Social Action Food Delivery
Sunday, September 25, 9:00 am
Sponsored by TI's Social Action Committee in Partnership with the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA)
Help brighten the High Holidays by delivering bags of Holiday groceries to seniors, immigrants and others in need in the greater Washington Jewish community.  Packages will be ready for pick up on the steps of the TI Juniper Street entrance beginning at 9:00 am.
To volunteer, use this form. Questions? contact Gene Herman.

Mahzor Deliveries
Exact dates and times will depend on volunteers' availability
Some TI members may Zoom in to High Holiday services and will need a mahzor brought to them. This is a lovely opportunity to say hello and wish a Happy New Year to someone you will not otherwise be seeing at services. Please click here if you are able to do some deliveries.

Goldberg Cleanup Day
Sunday, September 18, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

This special day is named after Marcia and Jeremy Goldbergz'l", who led and supported the TI community for many years, and whose children, Eliot and Devra, continue this tradition of generosity today. To honor their memory, we come together each year before Rosh Hashana to help make the building, Sanctuary and grounds sparkle before the High Holidays. No pre-registration required. All ages and abilities welcome, snacks provided!

Empty Your Pockets Campaign: Homes for our Troops
Sponsored by the Social Action Committee

Each year, the Social Action Committee selects a charity, and encourages TI members to "empty their pockets" on their way into the synagogue for Kil Nidre services. This year, we will empty our pockets for Homes for our Troops, whose mission is to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Can't volunteer for the High Holidays but still want to help? There are always opportunities to volunteer throughout the year.
Contact Jevera Temsky if you want to learn more about volunteering at TI.
