Fall Holidays: Yours, Mine, and Ours
Taught by:
Rabbi Avis Miller
The fall holidays give us the opportunity to explore the connection (or disconnect!) between our identities as Americans and as Jews.
Together we will discuss the Jewish roots of Thanksgiving, and what Jews can bring to the table service; Jewish/rabbinic themes in Jesus’ birth narrative as presented in the Gospels; and the Hanukkah story as a Rorschach for contemporary Jewish concerns of assimilation.
Rabbi Avis Miller is Rabbi Emerita of Adas Israel and President of Open Dor Foundation, Inc.
