We will hold our March Board meeting on Monday, March 14 at 8:00 pm. The meeting will take place via Zoom and is open to all congregants until about 9:30 pm when the Board will enter Executive Session. If you would like to attend, please email me at TIPresident@tifereth-israel.orgso we know to expect you and can provide the Zoom link.
At our February meeting, the Board voted to assign the contract for the Jonquil Street property to CTI Properties LLC. CTIP is a group of TI congregants who have agreed to purchase the Jonquil Street property and hold it for potential future use by TI. While we have determined that TI is not interested in owning the property at this time, CTI Properties' purchase of the property will enable TI to more easily purchase it if we wish to do so in the future. For six years after the purchase, TI has an option to purchase the property at any time for 10% under its value. For an additional four years after that six year period, TI will have the right of first refusal to purchase the house if another offer is made on the property.
During the meeting we also elected a nominating committee including Melissa Perera and Stan Dorn as co-chairs, as well as Jennifer Kefer, Ellen Kramarow, and Naimah Weinberg. If you are interested in serving on the Board or would like to recommend candidates, please reach out to them.
Last month, the board also heard from the Vaccine Policy Committee and reviewed their recommendation, which was shared with the congregation via email recently. The board will vote on the policy on Monday.
The agenda for Monday is available for review. During the meeting the Board hear an update from the COVID Committee, vote on the vaccine policy mentioned above, and hold a discussion of the budget and dues for next year.
If you have any questions about the Board meeting or the work the Board is doing, I encourage you to reach out. Also, please mark your calendars for Thursday, March 31 for our Town Hall Meeting.
