At our December meeting, the Board heard several committee and project updates, including that we had finalized financing and signed a contract with Mecco to begin our HVAC project. We also reviewed the Q1 financials for this fiscal year and approved the formation of two funds outlined in a bequest from Bernie Shleien z"l. One fund will provide support for Himmelfarb School art activities. The other will be utilized to support art education for Israeli children in need either in the US or abroad. We would like to honor Bernie's legacy formally in the coming months. If you are interested in helping plan something, please contact me.
The agenda for Monday is available for review. The meeting will focus on reviewing final information concerning the Jonquil property and a vote by the Board on that issue. Included in the materials are several scenarios that could be pursued should the Board determine that ownership of this property is not in our best interest. We will update the congregation on the decision and next steps later next week.
