Gevarim offers these and other educational activities throughout the year. All are welcome to come and learn!

Talmud Study
In English translation, led by Rabbi Seidel
From 1:00pm - 2:00pm every other Shabbat between the High Holidays and late June

We use the 42-volume Talmud Bavli, published by KorenPublishers and prepared in conjunction with Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. TI members can access the entire Talmud if logged into their member account.

Jewish History: Lectures from The Great Courses
At 10:30am - 12:15pm on Sunday mornings each year between October and June

Each class includes two 30-minute video lectures and 45 minutes of class discussion led by a TI member history expert.  Past classes included: Between Cross and Crescent: Jewish Civilization from Mohammed to Spinoza(2016-17), The World of Biblical Israel(2017-18) and Beginnings of Judaism(2018-19). JTS Livestream
Several times a year

Livestreams come from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in New York City. Rabbi Seidel or a TI member expert introduces the event to the TI audience, then facilitates discussion once the livestream is over.  Previous livestreams included:  Reimagining End-of-Life Care: A Multi-Faith Exploration, Anti-Semitism in America: How Did We Get Here and How Can We Move Forward?and Renewing American Judaism.
