Advocacy
Advocacy
Several ongoing and evolving issues are impacting our community and country: preserving the environment, preventing gun violence, sheltering refugees, gender equality, voting rights, and healthcare. TI has identified several organizations that work to promote these cause, and we invite congregants to take a role in one or more of these organizations as well as informing and/or mobilizing congregational attention and support for these efforts.
The Social Action Committee's "Social Action Shabbaton", held annually during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend, focuses on a different advocacy topic each year. Click here to learn about the 2020 shabbaton. To learn about previous Shabbatons, click here.
